EASTER SUNDAY

there will never be a normal

again and while we are paused

time should pause too

as spring turns back

to late winter and snow

turns to a spring of catastrophe

even the weather confuses itself

the beginning of the end of

lilac season as some are still

tight-lipped buds and the end of

the beginning of our fear

becomes a constant

sensation of turbulent

wings in our breast

a bird fights to escape

a sheet draped cage &

all you hear is the tin-

tinnabulation of bells
